Ceremonial Hall

The Ceremonial Hall of the Ionian Academy is the central, historic venue for events of the Ionian University in Corfu. It hosts official academic ceremonies such as graduation ceremonies, honorary degree conferments, conferences, first-year student welcoming events, and concerts, combining cultural heritage with university life. It is located on the first floor of the historic Ionian Academy building, which was the first modern Greek university, operating from 1824 to 1864. Ionian Academy is situated at the southern end of Spianada Square, at the junction of Kapodistriou and Akademias streets, while the Ceremony Hall has a seating capacity of 330 and is equipped with a modern audiovisual system.
